Lalalow’s latest track, ‘Sensory Deprivation’, is an audio representation of exactly that. Hypnotic and engaging, the electronic tune aims to narrate the feeling of isolation, and the inability to use your own senses. The Finnish duo achieve this through a collage of electronic sounds that blur into a world of genre-fluid experimentation. You’ve got warm analogue synths on one hand, and glitching, heavily-edited lead vocals on the other. “There are two sides in creating your own world,” they explain. “Even though it might drive you crazy, you get in love with your own paranoid thoughts and develop a kind of Stockholm Syndrome relationship with them and at the end of the day want to remain isolated.” Be on the lookout for more genre-blending music from this exciting pair. -Dan Peeke
